The Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) PRN is a key member of our healthcare team, responsible for delivering high-quality nursing care to patients in accordance with physicians' orders. As a PRN LVN, you will work closely with our team to provide exceptional patient care and support.
Essential Job Functions- Deliver quality nursing care to assigned patients, minimizing the risk of infection, contamination, harm, or injury.
- Record patients' medical information and vital signs, monitoring and reporting any changes in their condition.
- Conduct specified laboratory tests and maintain accurate, detailed reports and records.
- Provide patient education and guidance, addressing identified knowledge deficits and promoting patient empowerment.
- Participate in performance improvement initiatives within JPS Health Network and assigned department.
- Graduate from an accredited School of Vocational Nursing.
- Current licensure to practice vocational nursing in the State of Texas by the Board of Nurse Examiners.
- Current JPS recognized Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- ACLS certification within 3 months of hire (required in Emergency Department and Critical Care only).
- EKG test passed within 90 days of hire date and maintained throughout employment (required in Emergency Department and Critical Care only).
- Completion of Pediatric Life Support (PALS) within 90 days of hire and maintains credentialing throughout employment for the Emergency Department.
- Completion of unit specific competency based orientation program within 90 days, if applicable.
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification must be obtained within 6 weeks of employment (for Inpatient Women's Services only).
- Approved Education and Training in Non-Violent Crisis De-escalation must be obtained within 90 days of hire date and maintained throughout employment for the Emergency Department.
