Job Summary:

The Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) PRN is a key member of our healthcare team, responsible for delivering high-quality nursing care to patients in a fast-paced surgical specialty clinic setting. As an LVN PRN, you will work closely with our experienced nursing staff to provide exceptional patient care and support the operational, financial, and clinical performance outcomes of our network.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Deliver quality nursing care to assigned patients, minimizing the risk of infection, contamination, harm, or injury.
  2. Record patients' medical information and vital signs, monitoring and reporting any changes in their condition.
  3. Conduct specified laboratory tests and maintain accurate, detailed reports and records.
  4. Provide patient education, guiding and educating patients on their care and treatment.
  5. Participate in performance improvement initiatives within JPS Health Network and assigned department.
Requirements:
  • Graduate from an accredited School of Vocational Nursing.
  • Current licensure to practice vocational nursing in the State of Texas by the Board of Nurse Examiners and must maintain licensure throughout employment.
  • Current JPS recognized Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and must be maintained throughout employment.
  • ACLS within 3 months of hire (required in Emergency Department and Critical Care only).
  • EKG test passed within 90 days of hire date and maintained throughout employment (required in Emergency Department and Critical Care only).
  • Completion of Pediatric Life Support (PALS) within 90 days of hire and maintains credentialing throughout employment for the Emergency Department.
  • Completion of unit specific competency based orientation program within 90 days, if applicable.
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification must be obtained within 6 weeks of employment (for Inpatient Women's Services only).
  • Approved Education and Training in Non-Violent Crisis De-escalation must be obtained within 90 days of hire date and maintained throughout employment for the Emergency Department.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 6 plus months of nursing experience.
