About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Computer-Aided Design (CAD) specialist to join our team at Ochsner Health System. As a CAD specialist, you will play a critical role in supporting the Facilities Development and Facilities Management teams by creating new drawings, updating existing drawings, and life safety code plans. You will also be responsible for compiling technical databases and performing other duties as assigned.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct field investigations and verify existing as-built conditions and computerize or insert files of new conditions supplied by architects.
  • Update and manage all computer drawing files, as well as hard copies and related databases of existing facilities.
  • Prepare documentation of miscellaneous construction activities and inspect contractor work consistent with organizational standards.
  • Support various departments, project engineers, and outside consultants.
  • Assist Project Manager(s) with design, coordination, and review of projects with users and consultants.
  • Attend construction meetings.
  • Compile technical databases for special requests and/or to satisfy requirements of regulatory agencies.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associates of Applied Sciences in drafting & design technology or a related field (architectural, construction, interior design) preferred.
  • 1 year experience with drafting and design technology required.
  • Drafting experience in architectural, mechanical, and electrical fields preferred.
