Under the guidance of a licensed independent practitioner, manager, or Registered Nurse, and in compliance with the Commonwealth of Virginia Board of Nursing guidelines, you will assist with various direct and indirect patient care tasks.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting daily living activities, providing comfort care, and assisting with nutritional needs.
- Executing designated diagnostic and therapeutic tasks as instructed.
- Engaging in indirect patient care activities such as maintaining a safe and clean environment, ensuring adequate supplies and equipment, and collecting relevant data related to the patient demographic.
- Transporting patients within the facility while adhering to safety protocols. You will also maintain advanced knowledge and skills in medical transport.
Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is mandatory. An associate degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical program in paramedic studies is preferred.
Experience: A minimum of one year of experience as an EMT-A, EMT-I, or Paramedic is preferred.
Licensure, Certification, and Registration: Must be certified in the State of Virginia as an EMT-Advanced, EMT-Intermediate, or EMT-Paramedic (required) and maintain National Registered status (preferred). AHA BLS - HCP and ACLS certifications are required. PALS, Haz Mat Awareness, NRP, and PHTLS or BTLS certifications must be obtained within one year of hire.
Additional Minimum Qualifications: You must complete continuing education hours to maintain re-certification as mandated by State and National standards.
