Fleet Maintenance Specialist

The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining the local fleet's upkeep and preventative maintenance, adhering to scheduled maintenance routines to ensure the longevity of the assets. This includes inspecting brake systems, steering mechanisms, wheel bearings, and other critical components to ensure proper operating condition.


Key Responsibilities:



  • Inspect and maintain brake systems, steering mechanisms, and wheel bearings to ensure optimal performance.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, battery checks, and lubrication of equipment and machinery.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues identified by drivers during pre- and post-trip inspections to minimize downtime.
  • Operate within departmental budgetary guidelines to optimize resource allocation.
  • Maintain accurate records of vehicle repairs and maintenance in online tracking software, adhering to safety regulations.
  • Enforce total tire management programs and other company-wide fleet maintenance initiatives.
  • Provide guidance to management on outsourcing repair services and asset disposal decisions.

Requirements:



  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
  • High school diploma or equivalent, plus 2-3 years of maintenance or related experience.
  • Able to lift and move up to 60 pounds regularly.
