Job Summary:

The Nuclear Medicine Technologist II is a critical member of our team at Albany Medical Center, responsible for performing technical procedures and assisting in the clinical evaluation and care of patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilize nuclear medicine modalities to create diagnostic images and provide patients with a safe and positive experience.
  • Practice and enforce radiation safety measures in accordance with New York State Department of Health code part 16.
  • Support teaching and continued learning, staying up-to-date with the latest technology and advancements in the field.
  • Prepare and administer dosages of radiopharmaceuticals, ensuring accurate and safe treatment.
  • Operate nuclear medicine instruments and imaging equipment, including SPECT/CT or PET/CT scanners.
  • Monitor work areas and patient rooms to ensure compliance with NY State regulations regarding radioactive materials.

Requirements:

  • Graduate of a 2-year AMA Nuclear Medicine School.
  • ARRT and NMTCB certification required.
  • On-call responsibility.
