Job Summary

Family Service League Inc. is seeking a per diem Recreational Aide to support our RECESS program, a Saturday therapeutic recreation program for children (ages 7-14) with serious emotional disturbances.

Key Responsibilities
  • Accompany the transportation provider to pick up participants at their homes.
  • Assist with planning, implementing, and evaluating activities that are therapeutically appropriate for participants.
  • Engage with children during the program.
  • Maintain a positive attitude with staff, supervisors, participants, and families.
  • Participate in training and staff development.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor's degree preferred.

1 year of experience working with youth who have diagnoses of serious emotional disturbances required.

Knowledge of child development and emotional disorders preferred.

Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills required.

Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office required.

Valid NYS Driver's License required.
