We are seeking a skilled Phlebotomist to join our team at North Mississippi Health Services. As a Phlebotomist, you will be responsible for collecting and processing patient specimens, ensuring accurate and efficient transportation to the laboratory for testing.
Key Responsibilities- Collect and process patient specimens in compliance with regulatory guidelines
- Transport specimens to the laboratory for testing, adhering to safety protocols and regulations
- Perform venipunctures, finger sticks, and heel sticks, as well as assist physicians with bone marrow collection and point-of-care glucose testing
- Accurately identify patients and collect specimens, applying barcode labels as required
- Communicate effectively with patients, staff, and physicians to ensure seamless specimen processing
- High school diploma or equivalent required; minimum of 1 year experience as a phlebotomist preferred
- Valid Mississippi Driver's License and acceptable driving record/history required
- Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel
- Good organizational and communication skills, with ability to work effectively in a team environment
