REPORTS TO: Executive Housekeeper
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Public Area Attendant plays a crucial role in ensuring a pristine environment for guests. This position involves supporting room attendants on designated floors, managing the collection of soiled linens, and transporting them to the laundry area. Additionally, fresh linens are delivered to room attendant carts throughout the day. Responsibilities may also include assisting with the removal of linens from rooms and maintaining cleanliness in public spaces. The attendant is responsible for delivering and retrieving items requested by guests and housekeeping personnel.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain a clean and safe atmosphere for all guests.
- Proactively oversee assigned areas and equipment.
- Ensure the cleanliness of communal areas within the property.
- Conduct deep cleaning tasks in designated locations.
- Set up and manage complimentary functions in the hotel lobby.
- Prepare and clean meeting rooms for events.
- Deliver requested service items to guest rooms as instructed by the front desk.
- Assist guests with their luggage when necessary.
- Complete daily assignments efficiently and punctually.
- Utilize supplies in an effective manner.
- Report any safety, maintenance, or housekeeping issues to management.
- Participate in all mandatory training sessions.
- Exhibit flexibility with scheduling and assignments.
- Demonstrate knowledge of and adherence to property cleaning protocols.
- Maintain high performance levels under pressure.
- Follow proper procedures for handling lost and found items.
- Adhere to guest safety protocols.
- Respect guest requests, including do not disturb signs and linen changes.
- Greet and acknowledge guests in public areas.
- Review daily inventory of supplies needed for tasks.
- Perform similar duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications:
- Ability to stand or move frequently within the facility.
- Capability to lift items weighing up to 50 lbs and push/pull approximately 200 lbs.
- Frequent handling of objects and equipment for facility maintenance.
- Ability to bend, stoop, and kneel regularly.
- Strong communication skills for effective interaction with guests and staff.
- Basic reading and writing skills for completing assignments and checklists.
- Willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
