Fresno City College is seeking a part-time counselor to join our faculty pool. As a counselor, you will provide academic, career, and personal counseling services to a diverse student population. You will work closely with students to help them clarify their educational goals, select courses, and develop Student Educational Plans (SEPs). You will also assist students in navigating the college's resources and services, including academic support, career development, and transfer preparation.
Key Responsibilities- Provide comprehensive counseling services to students, including academic, career, and personal counseling.
- Assist students in clarifying their educational goals and developing Student Educational Plans (SEPs).
- Work closely with students to help them navigate the college's resources and services.
- Monitor student progress through comprehensive electronic data systems.
- Maintain close working relationships with program and other instructional faculty, feeder high schools, and community resources agencies.
- Master's degree in counseling, rehabilitation counseling, clinical psychology, counseling psychology, guidance counseling, educational counseling, social work, career development, marriage and family therapy, or marriage, family and child counseling.
- Valid California Community College Credential or equivalent education and/or experience.
- Experience working with diverse student populations, including students from underrepresented groups.
- Knowledge of student development theories and career assessment tools.
- Ability to work effectively with students, faculty, and staff to achieve student success.
