Job Overview

Position Summary: The Home Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the residential care facility, ensuring high standards of care and support for residents.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Staff Development:

a. Provide continuous mentoring and training to team leaders and care staff.

b. Conduct thorough reviews of all incident reports.

c. Guide staff on proper documentation practices for Incident Reports (IR).

d. Implement In-Service training plans.

e. Facilitate weekly training sessions for leads and monthly training for all staff.

f. Prepare annual performance evaluations for each team member.

g. Supervise the daily tasks and responsibilities of all personnel in the facility.

h. Ensure the application of appropriate physical management techniques.

i. Exhibit flexibility and commitment to fulfill job responsibilities, including availability during evenings and weekends as required.

2. Record Keeping:

a. Oversee and train staff on daily documentation practices, including:

i. Shift reports, lead staff checklists, and communication logs.

ii. All incident reports occurring within the facility, ensuring proper follow-up and debriefing.

iii. Written documentation of coaching sessions.

3. Communication:

a. Liaise with the clinical team regarding residents' progress, plans, and concerns.

b. Maintain a constructive and open relationship with management.

c. Utilize various communication tools effectively.

d. Educate and advocate for residents' rights.

e. Communicate with guardians and case managers involved in residents' care.

f. Ensure residents attend their medical appointments punctually.

4. Accountability:

a. Hold staff accountable for their responsibilities and duties.

b. Ensure adherence to policies and procedures by monitoring:

i. Staff attire and professionalism.

ii. Proper use of communication devices during shifts.

iii. Cleanliness and orderliness of the facility.

iv. Professional conduct in all interactions.
