We are seeking a Software Security Specialist to become an integral part of our Information Security Engineering team.

Your expertise in applications, servers, security measures, and development methodologies will be essential in creating and maintaining secure and resilient software solutions.

In this role, you will collaborate closely with the Information Security, development, QA, and database teams to ensure effective design and implementation of security measures.

Key Responsibilities:

• Integrate security practices throughout the software development lifecycle.

• Work with development and operations teams to embed security within the application development lifecycle using DevSecOps methodologies.

• Enhance and refine the organization's security policies and standards.

• Conduct both manual and automated assessments of applications utilizing various tools and scripts.

• Evaluate processes and tools employed by development and database teams to secure the environment.

• Collaborate with application and QA teams to identify and mitigate risks.

• Create custom dashboards and reports to monitor the security posture of applications.

• Perform proactive testing of applications using Static and Dynamic Application Security Testing (SAST and DAST) methodologies.

• Engage with application development teams to identify components and recommend secure usage practices.

• Conduct regular security evaluations, vulnerability scans, and penetration tests; partner with the TVM team to address application security vulnerabilities and oversee remediation efforts.

• Develop secure coding guidelines and best practices for development teams.

• Assist in crafting security training programs for Application, Development, and QA teams.Core Competencies:

• In-depth knowledge of application development frameworks and processes.

• Practical experience with vulnerability assessment and penetration testing tools.

• Proficient scripting skills in Powershell and Python for automation.

• Strong familiarity with SAST, DAST, and Software Composition Analysis (SCA) tools and methodologies.

• Experience in web application security penetration testing.

• Knowledge of programming languages and scripting, including .NET, Python, and JavaScript.

• Comfortable with DevSecOps tools such as Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes, and secret management solutions like Hashicorp Vault and Azure Key Vault.

• Proficient in Azure DevOps pipeline scripting.

• Familiarity with OWASP security scanning practices.

• Understanding of common security libraries, controls, and vulnerabilities.

• Adaptability to evolving business models, project requirements, and technologies.

• Strong communication, consultative, and presentation skills.Additional Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in information systems or a related field, or equivalent experience.

• Over 5 years of relevant experience in an Application Security role.

• Technical expertise in Azure Cloud and DevOps practices.

• Knowledge of best practices, control frameworks, and applicable legal/regulatory requirements (e.g., SEC S-P Rule, FINRA cybersecurity recommendations, data privacy laws, ISO 27001, NIST CSF, PCI DSS, etc.).

• Relevant security certifications such as OSCP, GCIH, CEH, GCIA, GPEN, GPPA.
