Job Title: Assistant STUNT and Cheer Coach

St. Edward's University is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Assistant STUNT and Cheer Coach to join our team. As a key member of our Athletics department, you will play a vital role in developing and implementing the STUNT and Cheer programs, ensuring they align with the university's mission and core values.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Head Coach in developing and implementing the STUNT and Cheer programs, including creating and communicating the vision for a program seeking to reach unprecedented levels of success.
  • Support the Head Coach in all aspects of the STUNT and Cheer programs, including recruiting, retention, and student-athlete success.
  • Supervise practice and manage competitions, ensuring the highest level of performance and sportsmanship.
  • Manage resources provided by the University, including budgeting and fundraising to enhance program resources.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive recruiting and retention plan, focusing on identifying and recruiting high-quality student-athletes.
  • Support student-athlete success in all areas of the student experience, including academic support and personal development.
  • Integrate the program into the campus community, fostering relationships with faculty, staff, and students.
Requirements:
  • Baccalaureate degree in Sports Management, Physical Education, Education, Fitness, or a related program; Master's Degree preferred.
  • One year of STUNT, Cheer, or Gymnastics coaching experience at the professional, college, or high school level; or three years of participation at the professional or college level.
  • Knowledge of and experience in recruiting, including identifying and evaluating potential student-athletes.
  • Evidence of working/relating effectively with student-athletes of diverse races and cultures.
  • Knowledge of rules and regulations set forth by the NCAA, USA Cheer, and the Lone Star Conference.
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication, administrative, and organizational skills.
  • Possession of a valid unencumbered driver's license and the ability to travel locally and nationally.
  • Successful completion of an employment and/or criminal background check.
