About the Role

Nordstrom Inc is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Maintenance Technician to join our team. As a key member of our facilities team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and well-maintained store environment for our customers and employees.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and perform routine maintenance tasks on all critical and non-critical equipment, including HVAC, vertical transportation, and building systems.
  • Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical problems related to store operations, and perform repairs and maintenance as needed.
  • Operate and monitor building controls, critical and non-critical building systems, and associated equipment.
  • Lead equipment and building rounds, identifying and mitigating malfunctions, and reporting issues to management.
  • Perform manual labor tasks, including loading, unloading, lifting, and moving materials.
  • Assist with administrative tasks, such as parts ordering, PO creation, vendor management, and attending relevant job meetings and project meetings.
  • Promote a safe working environment by following all safety procedures, and act as a safety champion for adherence to safety and health rules.
  • Act as a face of the facilities business, attending store meetings and vendor/project meetings, and clearly documenting and sharing notes on outcomes.
  • Complete preventative maintenance routines, with proper documentation, and delegate to and mentor other technicians on system accuracy.
  • Assist the Facility Manager with technical training of new employees on equipment and/or building systems.
  • Respond to location emergencies, and update the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) as necessary to maintain maintenance procedure and accurate equipment historical records.
  • Communicate, coordinate, and assist in work with outside contractors, vendors, and Property Managers/Landlords.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma/GED, with an Associate's or higher degree from a vocational school or college preferred.
  • 5-7 years of experience in hands-on facilities work, with an emphasis in mechanical maintenance.
  • 5+ years of experience conducting predictive and preventative maintenance procedures.
  • 5+ years of working experience involving HVAC and refrigeration, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical skills to perform facilities and equipment repairs.
  • Able to troubleshoot basic input and output functions, low voltage signal tracing, and logical device troubleshooting.
  • Able to work without supervision, and meet multiple deadlines.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and comfortably with all organizational levels, including written and verbal skills.
  • Strong dedication to supporting facility operations, working in a safe, customer-focused manner, and being highly self-motivated.
  • Ability to utilize all Microsoft Office programs and applications at an intermediate level.
  • Previous experience with a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and ordering system (Coupa).
  • Knowledge of computer networking systems and infrastructure.
  • Experience with electromechanical operation and maintenance.
  • Project Management experience a plus.
  • Ability to maintain a flexible schedule, including days, evenings, weekends, and off-hours.
Physical Requirements

The physical demands of this role include stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and the ability to lift/carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more, with or without reasonable accommodation.
