Harris Geospatial Solutions is in search of an Advanced Concepts Engineer (ACE) specializing in Optical Communication to contribute to multi-domain programs.

This role presents a unique opportunity to tackle complex challenges while leveraging your extensive expertise in free-space optical communication networks.

Your recognized professional skills and experience will play a crucial role in delivering essential solutions that support national security interests.

This position encompasses a multi-faceted approach, including direct engagement with clients regarding technology and applications that address evolving mission scenarios and emerging threats.

Your technical knowledge and business insight will establish you as a key resource in supporting opportunity development, shaping, pursuit, capture, execution, and delivery of significant programs.


Key Responsibilities:


The Free-Space Optical Comm ACE will provide strategic technical leadership, utilizing Harris Geospatial's technical capabilities to fulfill the business requirements of both the company and its clients.

You will aid in the expansion strategy for Space and Airborne Systems Segments, working closely with DoD and Intelligence Community clients to enhance our capabilities across existing and new mission areas.

We aim to develop top-tier space and airborne communication capabilities that address our clients' most demanding missions while identifying synergies across various business sectors.

This role serves as a bridge between engineering, program management, and business development functions.

The successful candidate will drive innovation and technical execution of high-performance communication system products and solutions.

The ideal candidate will excel in a matrix organization, possessing a strong grasp of systems engineering, multidisciplinary processes, and technical principles, along with a proven record of successful technical leadership.

The ACE will consider all necessary factors, including customer missions, budget constraints, technical preferences, and political contexts, fostering trust in both the ACE and Harris Geospatial Solutions.

The successful individual will lead technology innovation, support the development of technology and mission roadmaps, promote program execution excellence, and source innovative concepts for novel solutions to emergent challenges.


Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 12 years of relevant experience, or a Graduate Degree with at least 10 years of related experience. Alternatively, a minimum of 16 years of relevant experience may substitute for a degree.

Current TS/SCI Security Clearance

Experience with U.S. Government clients

Proficiency in engineering processes and the ability to adapt innovative solutions to emergent missions

Experience in business development and client engagement

Proven ability to lead and collaborate with diverse, multidisciplinary teams, including remote locations and internal/external clients

Preferred Skills:
Self-motivated individual capable of operating independently in diverse environments

Exceptional communication skills (written, verbal, and presentation)

Demonstrated success in entrepreneurial endeavors

Familiarity with modems and optical communication standards

Experience with Agile Development methodologies

Ability to proactively identify and address issues swiftly

Experience in analyzing, developing, and integrating electronic systems in fields such as remote sensing, aerospace payloads, mission computing, communications, networking, robotics, and cyber/electronic warfare.
