Position Overview

This role is crucial for delivering respiratory care to patients across all age groups suffering from pulmonary conditions. Responsibilities include setting up various equipment to administer prescribed medicinal gases and aerosol treatments. You will perform a wide range of respiratory therapy procedures, including oxygen delivery, mechanical ventilator management, and diagnostic tests such as blood gas sampling and analysis.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Initiate and manage both invasive and non-invasive mechanical ventilation, ensuring proper functionality in accordance with physician directives.
  2. Adhere to infection control protocols for all respiratory equipment.
  3. Adjust ventilator settings based on clinical evaluations and blood gas results.
  4. Administer inhaled medications following institutional guidelines.
  5. Provide oxygen therapy using various delivery methods.
  6. Conduct blood gas analyses and monitor therapy effectiveness through non-invasive techniques.
  7. Participate in resuscitation efforts and support services during high-risk deliveries.
  8. Assist in the training and orientation of new staff members and students.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Associate's degree from an accredited Respiratory Care program.
  • Current licensure in the state of Massachusetts.
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) credentials.
  • A minimum of one year of experience in a similar role.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Two years of experience in Pulmonary Function Testing.
