Position Overview:

Envision Radiology is in search of a dedicated Full-Time Breast Imaging Specialist. This role is essential in delivering high-quality mammography and bone density examinations, ensuring patient comfort and safety throughout the process.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Engage with patients to gather comprehensive medical histories and provide clear instructions regarding procedures to achieve optimal imaging results.

  2. Review patient records for any missing clinical data and verify consent. Conduct screenings for surgical implants, allergies, and other relevant health concerns.

  3. Collect prior imaging as necessary and execute high-quality scans for Radiologist evaluation.

  4. Administer Bone Density and Mammography tests while prioritizing patient care before, during, and after the examination, and promptly alert the appropriate personnel if there are any changes in the patient's condition.

  5. Transfer imaging results to designated locations as required.

  6. Collaborate with Radiologists to ensure proper procedural protocols are followed.

  7. Maintain and routinely inspect imaging equipment, reporting any quality issues or malfunctions immediately.

  8. Communicate with the Lead Technologist and Center/Area Manager regarding departmental matters.

  9. Perform additional tasks as assigned.

Work Environment:

This position operates within a controlled outpatient clinical setting. Employees may encounter potential exposure to radiation, which is mitigated through the use of Personal Protective Equipment. There may also be exposure to bodily fluids and other conditions typical of a medical office.

Physical Requirements:

Employees in this role may need to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Regular use of hands and fingers for handling and operating equipment is required, along with frequent communication and visual acuity.

Qualifications:

Minimum of two years of experience in Mammography and Bone Density is preferred. Candidates should possess the ability to educate patients effectively, demonstrate attention to detail, and thrive in a fast-paced team environment. Strong communication skills and a professional demeanor are essential.

Education and Certifications:

Graduation from an accredited Registered Technologist program is required, along with current certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Mammography and Bone Densitometry. A valid state medical board license and current CPR/BLS certification are also necessary.
