Position Overview

_PeaceHealth is in search of a dedicated Hand Surgeon to enhance the Orthopedic division within our Medical Group, aiming to establish a vital service for the community._

  • Designated clinic space available; conveniently located near a major medical center.
  • Supportive and positive workplace culture emphasizing a healthy work/life balance for all staff.
  • Standard clinic hours are Monday through Friday, from 8 AM to 5 PM.
  • Work schedule includes 2.5 days in clinic, 2 days in surgery, and allocated administrative time.
  • Collaborate with the clinic practice, Sports Medicine physician, and Rapid Access Clinic for consultations.
  • Utilize Epic EHR for patient management.

Continuing Medical Education (CME):
Up to $3,300 annually for CME and professional dues/fees (based on 1.0 FTE; prorated for lower FTE).

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver medical care within the scope of practice, training, and credentials.
  • Adhere to current medical standards and quality criteria established by the clinic.
  • Evaluate and implement individualized patient care plans, demonstrating an understanding of patient growth and development across the lifespan.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Qualifications

Education

  • Graduation from an accredited School of Medicine is required.

  • Completion of an Internship/Residency Program in the relevant specialty is mandatory.

Experience

  • Proficiency in computer systems is required.

Credentials

  • Must be licensed to practice as a physician in the state and board certified or board eligible.

  • Possession of a valid Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) number is required.

  • Certification in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) is mandatory.

Skills

  • Proven expertise in the clinical management of patients is essential.
  • Commitment to ongoing education and skill enhancement is required.
  • Must fulfill all training requirements specific to the department.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including a demanding on-call schedule.
  • Must not be excluded from participation in Medicare or Medicaid programs.

Working Conditions

  • Ability to handle patients weighing up to 35 lbs. without assistive devices.
  • Fine motor skills necessary for precise medical procedures.
  • Capability to perform CPR for extended periods as needed.
  • Frequent mobility around the facility is required.
  • Occasional lifting of non-patient items up to 20 lbs.

Environmental Conditions

  • Exposure to biohazards and medical waste is expected.
  • Work will primarily be conducted in a clinical setting.

Mental/Visual Requirements

  • Normal vision and hearing capabilities are necessary for effective communication.
