Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Systems Engineer I to join our team at Spectrum Services. This role will be responsible for assisting in the design, development, and implementation of enterprise-wide Operations Support Systems (OSS) applications and their associated operating systems and databases.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the design, development, and implementation of OSS applications and their associated operating systems and databases.
  • Administer and maintain NMS, including operating systems and related software.
  • Provide 'on call' support to resolve NMS issues after normal business hours.
  • Work with database administrators to configure, tune, and maintain databases in various languages.
  • Document systems configurations and upgrades.
  • Monitor and assist in managing applications, device availability, network conditions, and status.
Requirements
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Basic ability to conduct design sessions to specify solution designs for feasibility, cost, and functionality.
  • Basic ability to create detailed documentation to functionally understand new and existing applications.
  • Basic ability to follow and implement established change and control policies and procedures.
  • Basic ability to troubleshoot application problems.
  • Basic knowledge of development tools, application frameworks, and testing tools.
  • Basic knowledge of OSS applications and software.
  • Basic knowledge of choosing the appropriate lifecycle and the planning, monitoring, and control of the systems engineering process.
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • System administration experience (UNIX & Netcool) - 1 year.
  • Database support experience - 1 year.
  • Enterprise Application experience - 1 year.
Preferred Qualifications
  • System administration experience (UNIX & Netcool) - 3+ years.
  • Database support experience - 3+ years.
  • Enterprise Application experience - 3+ years.
Work Environment

This role will be based in an office environment.

A qualified applicant's criminal history, if any, will be considered in a manner consistent with applicable laws, including local ordinances.

The base pay for this position generally is between $66,500.00 and $127,000.00 per year, depending on qualifications and experience.

We comply with local wage minimums and offer additional forms of incentive-based compensation, such as bonuses.
