Lutheran Senior Services is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our team. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for overseeing the preparation and presentation of meals, ensuring exceptional quality and service to our residents.
Key Responsibilities- Menu Planning and Execution: Develop and implement menus that meet the dietary needs and preferences of our residents, while ensuring compliance with nutritional standards and food safety regulations.
- Staff Supervision and Training: Supervise and train a team of cooks and kitchen staff, providing guidance and support to ensure they meet the highest standards of quality and service.
- Cost Control and Inventory Management: Manage kitchen inventory and supplies, ensuring efficient use of resources and minimizing waste.
- Quality Assurance and Food Safety: Implement and maintain a quality assurance program, ensuring that all food is prepared and served in a safe and sanitary environment.
- Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with other departments, including dietary, nursing, and administration, to ensure seamless communication and collaboration.
- Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent required; culinary degree or certification preferred. Minimum two years of experience in a supervisory capacity in a restaurant, healthcare, or retirement facility setting.
- Skills and Abilities: Strong leadership and communication skills, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
