Role Overview: The primary responsibility of this position is to deliver profitable State and Local Tax (SALT) services to our clients, effectively utilizing both firm and client resources. You will be expected to:

  • Provide timely, high-quality client service that meets or surpasses expectations through tax advice and consultation aimed at enhancing shareholder value.
  • Focus primarily on state income and franchise taxes, while also engaging with sales and use taxes, gross receipts taxes, employment taxes, credits and incentives, and due diligence reviews.
  • Research and resolve complex technical state and local tax issues.
  • Prepare technical memoranda, matrices, and other client deliverables.
  • Manage tax assignments and related projects efficiently.
  • Plan and coordinate the flow of information with clients.
  • Review work papers and state tax returns meticulously.
  • Participate in the billing and collection process.
  • Identify opportunities for providing additional services to clients, showcasing technical expertise.

Qualifications:

  • CPA, CMI, JD, or LLM is required.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting.
  • A minimum of 5 years of current or recent experience in public accounting or a corporate tax department.
  • Familiarity with researching state tax laws and regulations.
  • Strong communication and writing skills are essential.
  • Tax compliance experience is a plus.

Compensation: The salary range for this role is $97,200 - $183,700, and individuals selected for this position will be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on both firm and individual performance.
