Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Post Doctoral Fellow to join our team at the Department of Epidemiology & Biostatistics. This position is an excellent opportunity for individuals who are passionate about research and have a strong background in epidemiology, public health, or exercise science.

The successful candidate will work closely with Dr. Bethany Barone Gibbs on ongoing projects spanning from 24-hour behavioral monitoring in multi-center observational cohorts to randomized clinical trials in office workers and pregnant women. This role can start as early as April 2025 but should start no later than August 2025.

About the Opportunity

This postdoctoral scholar will lead components of extramurally funded and pilot projects, including protocol design, project administration, and data collection, management, and analysis. The ideal candidate will also participate in grant writing, present at national scientific meetings, mentor students, and coordinate research seminars.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Doctoral degree in epidemiology, public health, exercise science, or a related field
  • A minimum of two years of experience in conducting independent statistical analyses, designing, conducting, and disseminating an independent research project in physical activity, cardiovascular, rural, or maternal-fetal health
  • Strong data analytic skills, knowledge of R or similar software, excellent teamwork and communication skills, scientific writing skills, and experience in phlebotomy or measuring subclinical cardiovascular disease outcomes
