We are seeking a highly skilled Staff Accountant to join our team at BJM Group. As a Staff Accountant, you will play a critical role in maintaining and preparing tax-related matters, organizing financial documents, and ensuring the successful implementation of efficient and compliant accounting procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare quarterly payroll tax returns, sales tax returns, and county ad valorem returns within specified tax deadlines.
  • Analyze tax laws to ensure all regulations are met.
  • Assist with various accounting activities as assigned.
  • Prepare individual and business tax returns with federal, state, and local government agencies.
  • Maintain tax records, tax returns, tax schedules, and related tax reports.
Requirements:
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to manipulate large amounts of data.
  • Proven knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, practices, standards, laws, and regulations.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy; proactive, deadline-driven, and able to work independently.
  • Advanced computer skills in MS Office suite and bookkeeping software, including QuickBooks.
  • Working knowledge of various accounting practice management software.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or related field.
  • 5+ years or more of recent public accounting experience.
  • EA (enrolled agent) or CPA (certified public accountant) preferred.
Work Environment:

Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Ability to lift up to 15lbs at times.
