About the Position
Ameren Services provides administrative support and services to Ameren Corporation and its operating companies, subsidiaries, and affiliates. The company has a diverse team of nearly 1,400 employees who serve in various roles, including business planning, communications, diversity, financial support, human resources, information technology, legal counsel, and safety and supply services.
As a GIS Co-op, you will work in a GIS environment, learning from engineers, designers, or mapping personnel as they help support GIS projects. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Reviewing GIS data for quality control and quality assurance purposes
- Visiting sites in the field to collect data and verify Ameren records
- Interacting with Ameren contractors to evaluate and confirm the validity of data provided to Ameren
- Documenting work practices used to gather, evaluate, and record GIS data
- Assisting with updates to Ameren data
Qualifications
To be considered for this role, you must be a current student pursuing a degree in GIS, Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related field from an accredited college or university. A minimum GPA of 2.5 is required, with a 3.0 GPA preferred. Additionally, you should have a solid part-time work history and strong Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel. Database skills are also preferred.
