Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Vocational Skills Trainer to join our team at InsideHigherEd. As a Vocational Skills Trainer, you will be responsible for conducting online and on-site training for solar photovoltaics technology, processes, technical sales, solar installation, and related subject areas.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver high-quality training programs for students in solar photovoltaics technology, processes, technical sales, solar installation, and related subject areas.
  • Evaluate student performance and record grades in a fair and timely manner.
  • Ensure students who successfully complete programs receive a digital badge and access to certification and career resources.
  • Support the development of related Continuing Professional Education courses in accordance with industry certification requirements.

Requirements

  • A minimum of a bachelor's degree or equivalent industry experience is required with a focus on solar photovoltaics, alternative energy, sustainability, natural science or a related field.
  • Two years of professional experience in the alternative energy industry including solar, wind, construction and installation, electrical, and/or energy auditing.
  • Knowledge of safety practices in professional settings and experience teaching adults.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelors' or Master's degree in alternative energy/sustainability or related fields as well as certification/licensure including NABCEP Solar PV Associate, PV Installation Professional or other NABCEP or industry-recognized certification.
