Job Summary

As a Surgical Technologist at Blount Memorial Hospital, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our surgical department. Under the supervision of surgeons, registered nurses, or other surgical personnel, you will assist in preparing patients for surgery, setting up the operating room, and maintaining aseptic conditions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the setup and preparation of the operating room, including the arrangement of equipment and supplies.
  • Help transport patients to and from the operating room, ensuring their safety and comfort.
  • Pass instruments and supplies to surgeons during procedures, maintaining aseptic technique at all times.
  • Monitor and maintain the sterility of the operating room, including the handling of surgical instruments and specimens.
  • Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure the efficient and safe conduct of surgical procedures.
Requirements
  • Certification in Surgical Technology is required and must be maintained.
  • 1 year of post-educational experience is preferred.
  • Knowledge of aseptic surgical technique and handling of surgical instruments and specimens.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
