• Manages the daily functions of the department, including staff and volunteer coordination.

• Recruits, evaluates, trains, and assigns volunteers to appropriate roles.

• Aids in the planning and development of programs aimed at enhancing both customer and volunteer experiences while supporting hospital services.

• Supervises the operations of the Information Desk, Gift Shop, and Waiting Areas.

• Assesses and prioritizes volunteer requests and allocates them to relevant departments.

• Develops and reviews job descriptions for staff and volunteers, ensuring compliance with established guidelines.

• Acts as a mediator between departments and volunteers to address any issues.

• Functions as the junior volunteer coordinator as needed.

• Requires expertise in volunteer management and oversight to guide assigned staff and volunteers, as well as to create and implement volunteer programs.

• Capable of evaluating and prioritizing departmental requests to effectively assign volunteers.

• Possesses analytical skills to formulate and monitor job responsibilities for staff and volunteers, develop policies and procedures for volunteer programs, and manage the budget.

• Strong interpersonal abilities are essential for supervising and training staff and volunteers, as well as for engaging with all hospital departments.

• Must be adept at interacting with all staff, volunteers, patients, and visitors, particularly in challenging situations.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.

• Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and prioritize tasks effectively.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • 2 to 3 years of experience in volunteer coordination is necessary.
  • Experience in the healthcare sector is highly preferred.
  • Volunteer certification is advantageous.
