Key Responsibilities- Advise on Explosives Safety Standards: Provide guidance on explosives safety standards, practices, and procedures to minimize potential safety hazards.
- Develop and Evaluate Explosives Safety Programs: Administer and evaluate explosives safety programs to oversee the safe and efficient handling, storage, transportation, disposal, and treatment of explosives.
- Facilitate Safety Meetings and Training: Facilitate safety meetings and training classes to stay apprised of accident trends or regulatory changes.
- Investigate Explosive Accidents: Investigate explosive accident causes to assess the potential for recurrence and recommend corrective methods for prevention.
- Provide Regulatory Liaison: Provide liaison between the company and Federal & State Regulatory Agencies.
- Coordinate Regulatory Compliance Audits: Coordinate and facilitate preparation for Federal and State regulatory compliance audits and serve as a point of contact for inquiries, issues, and audits related to regulations.
- Develop and Maintain Compliance Programs: Develop and assist in maintaining Company Standard Operating Procedures and other Compliance programs.
- 5-7+ years' experience in explosives compliance accompanied by a deep understanding of explosives handling, storage, transportation, disposal, and treatment of explosives.
- Advanced understanding of and experience with explosives and energetic materials EH&S, licensing, and compliance; experience with ATF and OSHA.
- Experience with SOPs and Audits: Experience with developing standard operating procedures (SOPs), conducting audits, and advising on best practices related to logistics, compliance, and safe handling of explosives.
- Professional Integrity and Accountability: Professional integrity, confidentiality, and a sense of responsibility and accountability.
- Organizational and Communication Skills: Highly organized and efficient worker; skilled at multi-tasking. Effective communication skills - verbal and written; attentive listener.
- Ability to Travel: Ability to travel up to 25% to various operations locations.
