Job Title: Research Program Assistant

The successful candidate will assist with the development of study instruments, laboratory work, community outreach, data collection, and field work.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist with the development of standard operating procedures, training manuals, and study instruments for a research study.
  • Assemble and calibrate air sampling equipment and take it to field study sites and process samples in the laboratory.
  • Schedule home visits, call participants to remind them of appointments, plan and organize appointments.
  • Obtain informed consent from study participants.
  • Assist with the collection of environmental samples, health measures, and biospecimens.
  • Administer questionnaires to participants.
  • Must be willing to drive to field sites in Baltimore and surrounding area within a 30-mile radius and have occasional schedule flexibility.
  • Must have a vehicle.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or graduation equivalent, with some college courses preferred.
  • Some related experience.
  • Additional education may substitute for required experience, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bilingual (reading/speaking) in Spanish a plus.
  • Proficiency with RedCap preferred, but not a must.
  • Knowledgeable about and comfortable working with vulnerable communities and in team settings.
  • One year of work experience in a laboratory setting preferred, but not a must.

Starting Salary Range: $23.25 HRLY ($41,000 targeted; Commensurate with experience)
