Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Technician I to join our team at American States Utility Services. As a key member of our facilities maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our water and wastewater systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on water and wastewater equipment, including pumps, motors, and generators.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance tasks, such as inspecting and testing equipment, to prevent downtime and ensure optimal performance.
  • Identify and troubleshoot issues with equipment and systems, and implement effective solutions to resolve problems.
  • Work with superintendents and other maintenance technicians to prepare and maintain operational memos for all facilities.
  • Perform general housekeeping and maintenance tasks, including painting, vegetation control, cleaning, and yard maintenance.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to obtain a CDL with tanker endorsement within 24 months.
  • Formal electrical schooling/training preferred.
  • Ability to obtain State required Maintenance Technician Level I Certification within 12 months of hire.
  • Ability to obtain introductory level, State required water and/or wastewater certification within 12 months of hire.
Working Conditions

This position requires working in confined spaces, areas exposed to noise and chemicals, and extreme weather conditions. The ability to lift and carry loads up to 50 lbs. and push or pull up to 75 lbs. is also required.
