Job Overview

Central EMS is seeking a highly skilled Emergency Vehicle Technician - Diesel Mechanic to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and reliable transportation of our EMTs and Paramedics to emergency and non-emergency calls.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Order and manage parts for vehicle maintenance, ensuring timely and cost-effective repairs.
  2. Diagnose and repair medical equipment and stretchers, as well as fabricate and install components as needed.
  3. Perform routine maintenance and repairs on ambulances, including cosmetic and body repairs.
  4. Collaborate with the maintenance team to plan and coordinate preventative maintenance and repairs.
  5. Assist with vehicle specifications and maintain generator systems.
  6. Perform other related duties as required or assigned.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent, plus specialized schooling and/or on-the-job education in a specific skill area.
  • At least 4 years of related experience and/or training.
  • ASE auto certification and EVT level 1, 2, and 3 Ambulance certifications (preferred).
  • Advanced software skills, including the ability to use specialized software programs.
Working Conditions

This role requires:

  • Regular exposure to work near moving mechanical parts, outdoor weather conditions, and fumes or airborne particles.
  • Frequent exposure to work in high, precarious places and occasional exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals, extreme heat, and risk of electrical shock.
  • Loud noise levels in the work environment.
