Department Overview
The Production Group at WGBH is our dedicated video and audio post-production facility, catering to a diverse clientele. We serve notable WGBH productions and provide finishing services to independent producers, delivering a high volume of content to major distribution networks weekly.
Position Overview
Under the guidance of the Senior Post-Production Manager, the Audio Mixing Engineer plays a crucial role in audio post-production using a Pro Tools S6 system. This position also involves recording duties with various hardware and software setups, alongside a range of technical and maintenance responsibilities for both internal and external clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with project producers and post-production supervisors to utilize available tools for assembling, editing, and mixing audio tracks. Engineer narration recordings and Comrex sessions, create sound effects, and make necessary technical adjustments to audio signals for broadcast and non-broadcast projects.
- Must be a collaborative team player, customer-focused, adaptable, and willing to take on various roles as needed.
A Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is required. Candidates should possess 5-10 years of experience in audio post-production and related fields.
Job Specifics
This is a part-time staff position requiring 24 hours of work per week. This role is part of the NABET union and is primarily onsite.
