About This Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Fire Rescue Specialist to join our emergency response team at AMR Corp. in a challenging and rewarding role that requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and make quick decisions in high-pressure situations.

In this role, you will be responsible for performing fire prevention, fire suppression, hazardous material incident response, and emergency rescue duties, as well as performing related responsibilities as required. You will work under general supervision and be expected to conduct fire safety, home safety, fire extinguisher, and pre-fire planning inspections, provide information to the public, install smoke detectors, conduct station tours, visit schools, and participate in public education standbys.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform fire suppression duties by responding to emergency fire alarms;
  • Assist in the suppression of structural, residential, commercial, industrial, chemical, petroleum, vehicle, aircraft, and Wildland fires;
  • Operate various pieces of fire equipment and gear for fire suppression and control;
  • Communicate effectively with team members and the public through the use of portable radios;
  • Participate in all required training sessions, including live fire drills, performance evaluation drills, ongoing skills maintenance, practice, and training;
  • Review paperwork for accuracy and correct process;
  • Implement corrective/preventive measures as determined by the Corporate Compliance/Audit Committee;
  • Cooperate with Internal Audit, Compliance, and HR on any recommendations and changes to compliance and legal workflow issues;
  • Take swift and immediate action in accordance with Internal Audit and Corporate Compliance on any areas of concern;
  • Comply and enforce all policies and procedures;
  • Perform other duties as directed or assigned that are specific to the local operation.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record, a State issued or International Fire Service Accreditation Congress (IFSAC) or Fire Service Professional Qualifications System (ProBoard) certifications as a minimum, Firefighter I, Hazardous Materials-Operations, and a State issued or National Registered EMT-Basic or EMT-Paramedic certification.

You will also need to be able to lift up to 50 pounds and pass a physical fitness test, including a pack test, which measures aerobic capacity, muscular strength, and muscular endurance.

Work Environment

The work environment for this role will be primarily in an indoor office environment, with occasional outdoor work in potentially adverse conditions, such as extreme heat, cold, wet, humid, and loud situations.

Estimated Salary

The estimated salary for this role is $65,000 - $85,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
