We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Ultrasound Technologist to join our team at the Detroit Medical Center. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will be responsible for leading a team of ultrasound technologists and ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care.

Job Summary:

The Lead Ultrasound Technologist will be responsible for coordinating the flow of work, delegating tasks, and overseeing the performance of ultrasound technologists. You will also be responsible for monitoring the quantity and quality of work, ensuring compliance with laws and regulations, and implementing audit recommendations.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead a team of ultrasound technologists and ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care
  • Coordinate the flow of work and delegate tasks to team members
  • Monitor the quantity and quality of work and ensure compliance with laws and regulations
  • Implement audit recommendations and ensure the department is operating in a safe and efficient manner
  • Assist with monitoring performance improvement plans and recommend personnel actions
Requirements:
  • Registered by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) in Sonography (S)
  • Abdomen and OB Registry required
  • Two or more years progressively more responsible Ultrasound Technologist work experience
  • Basic Life Support – Healthcare Provider (BLS) training
Skills:
  • Analytical and clinical skills necessary to determine the most age-appropriate method of providing requested ultrasound services
  • Interpersonal and communication skills necessary to deal effectively with patients and hospital personnel
  • Technical knowledge necessary to operate equipment, including specialized equipment and computers
  • Ability to work productively and effectively within a complex environment
