Ultrasound Technologist Part Time Rotate

Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Ultrasound Technologist to join our team on a part-time rotating basis. As an Ultrasound Technologist, you will be responsible for performing diagnostic ultrasound exams utilizing appropriate imaging equipment. Your primary duties will include:
- Verifying patient identity and reviewing patient medical records for appropriateness of exam or procedure
- Interviewing patients to obtain, verify or update medical history and assessing risk factors such as medications, pregnancy and/or psychological indicators
- Explaining procedures to patients, including side effects of pharmaceuticals administered, risks, benefits, alternatives and follow-up
- Setting up equipment and acquiring appropriate images as per script
- Reviewing images, making initial observations, documenting exceptions from established protocols and communicating data to radiologists
- Recognizing and responding to medical emergencies as appropriate
- Providing physician-prescribed post-care instructions to patients
- Participating in process improvement activities within radiology practice, including quality of care, patient flow, reject-repeat analysis and patient satisfaction
- Providing imaging education to residents and other healthcare professionals
Qualifications
To be considered for this role, you must have:
- Registration by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or registration by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) in Sonography (S)
- Completion of American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (BLS) training by the end of the orientation period
- Registration in a specialty within 12 months of employment in the area of discipline
Skills Required
We are looking for a candidate with strong analytical and clinical skills, as well as excellent interpersonal and communication skills. You should be able to work effectively in a culturally diverse atmosphere and have the ability to comprehend and follow physicians' verbal and written requests and prescriptions. Additionally, you should have technical knowledge necessary to operate equipment, including specialized equipment and computers.
Physical Demands
This role requires the ability to stand, bend, push, pull, reach and lift in order to provide patient care. You should also have manual dexterity and visual acuity to operate and utilize all types of imaging equipment and supplies in order to produce images of acceptable diagnostic quality.
