Health & Fitness Specialist

POSITION SUMMARY

  • Provides expert care to individuals across various age groups within a designated area, in alignment with the mission, objectives, policies, and procedures of Coffee Regional Medical Center.
  • Key responsibilities include ensuring the safety and well-being of the Wellness Center, addressing patron inquiries and concerns, educating on proper equipment usage, maintaining machines and equipment, and assisting with fitness programs utilizing the Wellness Center.
  • Additionally, the Health and Fitness Specialist for Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehabilitation is responsible for delivering high-quality care to all patients participating in Phase II and Phase III of the Cardiac and/or Pulmonary Rehabilitation Program.

OVERVIEW

  • The evaluation process is designed to ensure alignment between individual performance, departmental objectives, and organizational goals. It aims to foster communication between management and staff, emphasizing the importance of employee self-assessment in performance evaluation.

QUALIFICATIONS

A. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Outstanding customer service capabilities.
  • Proficient in reading and comprehending the English language.
  • Ability to think critically and analytically with minimal supervision.
  • Capable of functioning effectively in high-stress and conflict situations while communicating objectives and outcomes.
  • Skilled in processing information and prioritizing tasks.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrates independent work habits, being self-reliant and self-directed.
  • Willingness to learn, adapt, and evolve as job functions require.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality regarding all accessed and reviewed materials and information.
  • Basic proficiency in computer usage.
  • Physical capability to move freely, reach, bend, and perform light lifting.
  • Ability to apply good body mechanics while executing daily tasks and adhere to specific safety guidelines.
  • Consistent attendance to meet standard job practices.

B. Education

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Exercise Physiology or a related field.

C. Licensure

  • ACLS certification preferred; BLS certification required.
  • Preferred Group Fitness Certification from a recognized fitness association.
