Aquatic Instructor Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and enthusiastic Aquatic Instructor to join our team at the City & Borough of Juneau, AK. As an Aquatic Instructor, you will be responsible for teaching swimming lessons to students of all ages and skill levels.

Responsibilities:
  • Teach swimming lessons to students aged six months to senior citizens
  • Develop and implement lesson plans to meet the needs of students
  • Track student progress and maintain accurate records
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to improve teaching skills
Requirements:
  • American Red Cross certification as Water Safety Instructor or other specialized certification in diving, scuba diving, or kayaking
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Flexibility to work varied schedules, including weekday evenings and Saturday mornings
