About the Role: We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced ASIC Lead Engineer to join our R&D team at X: The Moonshot Factory. The successful candidate will lead the development of custom chip designs for our cutting-edge wireless optical communication systems.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in analog mixed-signal, radio frequency, and digital design, with experience in coordinating teams and driving design from concept to product. They will be responsible for setting target specifications, contributing to detailed circuit design, and overseeing the foundry submission process.

The CMOS design will include analog front-end, precision D/A and A/D converters, high-speed serializer/deserializer, clock and bias generation/distribution, and digital signal processing backend circuits. The successful candidate will have a strong track record of pushing the boundaries of mixed-signal circuit design and will be highly proficient in the use of standard IC design tools.

What you should have:
  • MS Electrical Engineering or related field
  • Experience in coordinating teams
  • Experience as a top-level chip owner and extensive tapeout experience
  • Demonstrated achievements in pushing the boundaries of mixed-signal circuit design
  • Highly proficient in the use of standard IC design tools
It would be great if you also had these:
  • Ph.D. Electrical Engineering or related field
  • Experience with integrated photonics design and/or co-design of electronics and photonics
  • Experience with millimeter-wave designs, integrated transmission lines, and related signal integrity
