Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee safety, health, environmental, and security initiatives to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and internal policies.
  • Reduce workplace hazards and ensure comprehensive employee training programs are in place.
  • Propose and implement enhancements to existing programs.
  • Collaborate with facility management to achieve safety and environmental objectives.
  • Manage safety initiatives and conduct thorough accident investigations.
  • Establish strong working relationships with managers, supervisors, and staff.
  • Supervise environmental initiatives, including Wastewater, Solid Waste, and Hazardous Waste management.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety or a related discipline, or equivalent experience, with a minimum of 5 years in industrial health, safety, and environmental compliance, preferably within the food manufacturing sector.
  • Completion of OSHA 511 and 501 training courses.
  • In-depth understanding of federal and state regulatory requirements and effective implementation strategies.
  • Ability to interpret technical documentation and government regulations accurately.
  • Strong written, verbal, and analytical skills for evaluating performance metrics.
  • Proven track record in developing, delivering, and sustaining training programs.
  • Capacity to adapt to changing organizational needs and guide others through transitions.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with a focus on prioritization and detail.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities and teamwork skills across various functions.
  • Willingness to be on call and adjust work schedules based on operational demands.
  • Experience working collaboratively with local regulatory bodies.
