We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Charge Nurse RN to join our team at Ascension Medical Intensive Care Unit. As a key member of our nursing staff, you will be responsible for coordinating unit staffing, providing leadership, and ensuring the implementation of clinical objectives and quality patient care.
Responsibilities- Coordinate unit staffing and provide leadership to ensure effective patient care.
- Assign, direct, educate, and monitor nursing and support staff during assigned shifts.
- Contribute to or perform performance evaluations of staff.
- Assess daily patient care needs and develop and distribute patient care assignments.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of patient care and identify any issues that affect desired patient outcomes.
- Respond to complaints about patient care and manage through established channels.
- May provide input for hiring, training, directing, development, and evaluating of staff.
- BLS Provider certification from the American Heart Association.
- Registered Nurse licensure from the Illinois Board of Nursing.
- Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing.
- At least 1 year of experience as a Registered Nurse in a Medical ICU or Neuro ICU.
- Experience as a Charge RN or extensive experience as a Registered Nurse in Medical ICU or Neuro ICU.
