Job Description

The LPN-Charge Nurse plays a vital role in the daily operations of the clinic, working in collaboration with the Clinical Nurse Manager to ensure seamless workflow between Medical Assistants and providers. This position provides a wide range of nursing services to patients under the direct supervision of a registered professional nurse or physician, including therapeutic and diagnostic procedures, as well as medication administration.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise the workflow between Medical Assistants and providers
  • Provide nursing services to patients under the direct supervision of a registered professional nurse or physician
  • Administer medication and immunizations under the supervision of the Clinical Nurse Manager or Health Care Provider
  • Monitor and review patient results for abnormalities, including lab, x-ray, and hemocult slides
  • Communicate changes in patient status to the Provider
  • Utilize patient care protocols relating to physical, psychological, and development needs of all age groups

Requirements:

  • Current Illinois LPN License
  • Graduate from a state-approved course of study and successful completion of a pharmacology course
  • Two to five years of experience in a healthcare environment, preferably in an outpatient setting
