Job Title: Psychiatric Registered NurseJob Summary:

Boston Medical Center (BMC) is seeking a highly skilled Psychiatric Registered Nurse to join our team at the Brockton Behavioral Health Center. As a Psychiatric Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care to individuals experiencing complex mental health and substance use needs.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct patient care to psychiatric patients, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, evaluation, and coordination of care.
  • Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care to patients and their families.
  • Develop and implement individualized plans of care that reflect the patient's condition, prioritizes their needs, and provides for continuity of care.
  • Implement interventions identified in the nursing and medical plan of care, prioritizing patient care needs and delegating tasks to co-workers as needed.
  • Evaluate patient progress toward attainment of clinical and educational outcomes, revising diagnoses, outcomes, and plans of care as needed.
Requirements:
  • Associate's Degree in Nursing required; BSN required within four years of hire.
  • Licensed to practice professional nursing as a registered nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts or ability to receive reciprocity license prior to start.
  • Current basic life support (BLS) certification; some units may require Advanced Cardiac Life support (ACLS) certification.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of professional nursing principles, procedures, and techniques used in the care and treatment of patients in psychiatric settings.
  • Knowledge of social, psychological, and physical factors of psychiatric disorders.
  • Knowledge of psychotropic medications and their side effects.
  • Knowledge of State and Federal regulations that apply to the care of patients in inpatient psychiatric settings.
