About the Role:

The Director of Clinical Laboratory will be responsible for the overall management of the clinical laboratory, ensuring that all operations are conducted in accordance with established hospital and department policies and standards. This includes administrative, financial, compliance, quality improvement, technical, and personnel activities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide operational guidance to local site management
  • Ensure system integration of department structure, policy, procedure, information technology, supply chain, Human Resource, and quality assurance
  • Secure compliance of laboratory service with local, state, federal (CLIA), and other regulatory agency (CAP, TJC) standard
  • Take on special projects or other assignments and complete them within timeframe
  • Meet and consult with Corporate Laboratory Operations Leadership for policies, procedures, forms, instrumentation, equipment, supplies, and LIS
  • Promote standardization throughout the system
  • Ensure laboratories will meet or exceed established corporate/site KPIs in finance, quality, and service
Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Science degree in a scientific field to meet requirements of Clinical Laboratory Improvement Act (CLIA)
  • Possession of a valid license or certificate of Clinical Laboratory Scientist or Medical Technologist or Medical Laboratory Scientist, ASCP preferred
  • Minimum 5 years supervisory clinical laboratory experience required
  • General Accounting and statistics and financial operating experience
  • Quality Control and quality tools management courses desired
  • LEAN Six Sigma certification preferred
  • Master's Degree preferred
