Job Title: FPGA DSP Engineer

Advanced Technology & Research Corporation is seeking a highly skilled FPGA DSP Engineer to join our Engineering Services Division. As an FPGA DSP Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing RF-based solutions, including analog to digital signal processing, logic development, simulation, synthesis, testing, and timing closure using MATLAB, VHDL, and other associated modeling tools.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyze and characterize RF-based designs
  • Use design and development tools including logic analyzer, simulation, synthesis, testing, and timing closure utilizing MATLAB, VHDL, and other associated tools
  • Provide technical documentation including requirements test reporting, timing diagrams, block diagrams, and detailed descriptions
  • Provide signal processing solutions with custom or COTS circuit board design including high-speed signal layout as required
  • Mentor junior engineering staff on subject matter
Requirements:
  • Minimum Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering or related technical discipline
  • 5+ years of RF design and signal processing work
  • Proficiency with MATLAB, SDR, RFSoC, Linux, and JAVA tools
  • Candidate should be familiar with standard lab equipment (oscilloscopes, signal generator, logic analyzer, power supplies, etc.)
  • Experience with scripted languages such as Python or MATLAB
Preferred Skills and Abilities:
  • Knowledge of analog/digital signal processing
  • Strong understanding of C/C++ software development tools
  • Experience with Jira software, Bitbucket, and Git tools
  • Basic knowledge of FPGA design
  • Prior experience with Software Defined Radios (SDR) and GNU Radio
  • Knowledge of JTAG and Integrated Logic Analyzer for in-system debug
  • Working knowledge of Bash, Java
  • Experience with embedded Linux platforms
  • Experience working with high-speed data transit through FPGA
  • Experience with MATLAB / MATLAB HDL Coder
  • Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing
Other Requirements:

Candidate must be a US citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance or favorable adjudication of a national security background investigation.
