Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and qualified HVAC Technician to join our team at South Puget Sound Community College. As an HVAC Technician, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing HVAC equipment on our campuses. You will also perform preventative maintenance on equipment, analyze and maintain controls systems, and work closely with the Energy and Sustainability Program Manager to achieve energy conservation goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install, maintain, diagnose, and repair HVAC equipment
  • Perform preventative maintenance on equipment
  • Analyze and maintain controls systems; work with Metasys and Honeywell HVAC control systems
  • Monitor and adjust building heating and cooling; work closely with the Energy and Sustainability Program Manager to achieve energy conservation goals
  • Operate and maintain testing instruments and equipment
Requirements
  • Completion of recognized apprenticeship in refrigeration or steamfitter trades OR Full journey-level status in Plumbers and Pipefitters Union OR Five years of applicable experience in the refrigeration or steamfitter trades or a combination of the two
  • Knowledge of standard practices, methods, materials, tools, and equipment used in HVAC work, and principles of operation of HVAC systems
  • Two years' experience working in the HVAC field or equivalent skills and training
  • Strong commitment to customer service
  • Ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner, both verbally and written
  • Ability to work well in a team environment
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Ability to work independently, perform multiple tasks, and accommodate interruptions
  • Ability to work well under pressure
  • Computer skills - Outlook; Megamations
