Adjunct Faculty

Lone Star College is seeking a part-time Adjunct Faculty member to teach GED/Adult Basic Education-Career Preparation courses. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to student success and a passion for teaching adult learners.
The successful candidate will be responsible for creating engaging lessons, evaluating student progress, and maintaining professional relationships with students, colleagues, and the community.
This is a part-time, semester-by-semester position, contingent upon student demand. The work schedule will vary depending on class time, and instructors are required to meet with classes at all scheduled times and be available to students outside of class instruction.
Key Responsibilities- Teach GED/Adult Basic Education-Career Preparation courses at a variety of times and locations
- Create engaging lessons that promote student involvement and application of the material
- Submit required college reports and forms in a timely manner
- Utilize a course syllabus for each course, following established institutional guidelines
- Meet with and advise students either before or after class or by appointment, electronic communication, or other appropriate methods
- Evaluate students to measure their progress in achieving course objectives and inform students in a timely manner of their progress
- Maintain professional relationships with students, colleagues, and the community
- Attend meetings, trainings, and orientations as required
- At least 3 years of related work experience in desired teaching area
