Role Overview:

The Financial Operations Manager will be tasked with both strategic financial planning and the daily accounting functions of the organization. The ideal candidate will engage in routine accounting tasks while also proposing enhancements to improve financial processes and systems. Key responsibilities include:

  • Supervise and manage daily accounting functions with utmost confidentiality, which includes:
    • Month-end and year-end closing processes
    • Accounts payable and receivable management
    • Cash receipt processing
    • General ledger maintenance
    • Cash flow forecasting
    • Variance analysis of revenue and expenses
    • Check processing
    • Handling financial documents such as invoices and reporting journals, including data entry into the company’s software systems.
  • Establish and maintain comprehensive fiscal records to document all transactions.
  • Analyze sales and profit forecasts against actual figures and budgeted expenses; implement necessary adjustments to future projections and budgets.
  • Oversee payroll processes in collaboration with HR as a secondary support.
  • Direct the preparation of all financial statements, including income statements, cash flow statements, balance sheets, and budgets.
  • Implement and oversee accounting and internal control policies and procedures.
  • Guide the development of corporate and property-level budgets.
  • Monitor purchasing activities, collections of accounts receivable, and tax payments.
Qualifications and Skills Required:
  • A bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related discipline; relevant work experience will be considered. A master’s degree in accounting or a related field is advantageous.
  • Prior experience in managing business financials in an accounting capacity; experience as a Financial Operations Manager is highly preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and familiar with company-specific software applications.
  • Experience with AccPac is preferred or the ability to learn quickly.
  • Commitment to maintaining the highest standards of discretion, confidentiality, and professionalism.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management abilities.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills essential for task completion.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage deadlines effectively, executing responsibilities with minimal supervision.
  • Experience in a small business environment is a plus.
