Job Summary

We're seeking a highly skilled Bridge Engineer to join our Transportation Business Group in our Mid-Atlantic offices. As a key member of our team, you'll be responsible for designing and developing bridge structures that meet the highest standards of safety, efficiency, and sustainability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Apply structural engineering and detailing techniques to design and develop bridge structures
  • Work on projects that involve bridge design, box culvert, and interchange design for highway and railway projects
  • Select standard bridge engineering/design procedures and develop structural details using specialized software
  • Perform structural load calculations and assist with geometric layout and quantity development
  • Review and assign work to junior engineers and EITs, and check design calculations and estimates
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license
  • 5+ years of experience in bridge/structural design
  • Proven hands-on experience in all aspects of bridge design projects
  • Proficiency with bridge analysis and design software programs
  • Microsoft Office software and Microstation desired
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Structural Engineering
  • Experience working with local owners like VDOT, DDOT, MDSHA, MDTA, or local municipalities
  • Preference given to local candidates
