About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Electrical Engineer to join our Engineering & Design team, specifically in the Substation Design department. As a Senior Project Engineer, you will play a key role in the development and management of engineering design standards and specifications associated with transmission substations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and manage complex engineering programs, plans, and designs for Western Power's transmission substations.
  • Collaborate with external consultants and stakeholders to ensure compliance with drafting standards, technical, legal, regulatory, and best practice requirements.
  • Manage the technical queries register during the design stage and provide technical support during the construction stage.
  • Develop and maintain technical Scope of Work (SoW) for outsourced design contracts.
  • Assist project team members in maintaining the technical queries register during construction.
Requirements
  • Must possess a Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
  • Eligibility for corporate membership of the Institution of Engineers Australia.
  • At least 8 to 10 years' extensive experience in an engineering discipline, preferably within a utility engineering company.
  • A sound knowledge of distribution standards, policies, and procedures is required.
  • Sound understanding of the interactions of related disciplines impacting on distribution design, including civil/structural issues and environmental issues.
  • Sound understanding of distribution construction practices and processes.
  • Ability to engage with external consultants and stakeholders.
