Registered Nurse - Oncology Care Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our team as an Oncology Care Specialist. As a key member of our healthcare institution, you will be responsible for providing high-quality, patient-centered care to our medical and surgical patients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assessment and Care Planning: Perform comprehensive assessments and re-assessments of patient condition and care needs, including psychosocial, physical, educational, and cultural aspects.
  • Patient Education: Develop and revise individualized plans of care based on assessment and patient response to treatment, and evaluate overall plan daily for effectiveness.
  • Medication Management: Follow medication rights and reduce potential for medication errors, demonstrating knowledge of medications and their correct administration based on patient age and clinical condition.
  • Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with our interdisciplinary team to coordinate patient care and communicate effectively with patients and families.
  • Quality Improvement: Demonstrate flexibility, organization, and ability to function under stressful situations, utilizing critical thinking skills and sound judgment in priority setting and delegation.
Requirements:
  • Education: Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing.
  • Licensure: Current licensure in the state of Connecticut.
  • Certification: Certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support upon hire or within the new employee introductory orientation period.
  • Communication: Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Technical Skills: Possesses basic computer skills.
